Author Interview with Tory Richards

1.  When did you start writing?

I was ten when I fell in love with fairytales and their HEA endings. That’s when I began writing my own short stories, on notebook paper.

2.  What was your journey towards becoming an author like?

For me it wasn’t really a journey because I wrote as therapy and considered it a hobby. I was also a closet writer. Hence the reason I didn’t get published the first time until I was fifty. My daughter and niece found out I liked to write, read some of my work, and encouraged me to submit to a publisher.

3.  What can you tell me about your latest book? (Feel free to include an excerpt.)

Doc, book 8 of my Desert Rebels MC series, just came out on 8/1 and so far, reviews have been good. I’ve included the blurb for your reading enjoyment.

Doc has been a member of the Desert Rebels for a long time. He had his own clinic until a sweet, beautiful nurse came on board and ruined everything. Harlow is married and a complication Doc didn't need. He tried; he really did. But after a while he couldn't stand working next to a woman he wanted more than he needed air to breath.

Giving his practice up seemed the only logical solution, but life has a way of kicking you in the ass when you least expect it. Harlow becomes friends with some of the old ladies and suddenly she's frequenting the clubhouse and club owned bar. There's only one way Doc can survive being around her.

Make the beauty hate him any way he can.

4.  What sort of methods do you use for book promotion?

My monthly newsletter, blog, Twitter and Instagram I pretty much promote regularly. But I have a few go-to sites I’ve been using for years. The Romance Studio, Crave Books, The Fussy Librarian, Long and Short Reviews, to name just a few. I also put out a call for help in spreading the news when I have a new release coming out. I recently did that on Instagram. And I use RABT Book Tours for blitzes, tours, and reveals.

5.  Where do you get your ideas for stories?

Would that be inspiration? Lol Funny, but I just blogged about that on my blog. The condensed answer is, anything and everything can be inspiring.

6.  What are you working on right now?

Eagle, book 2 of The Biker Next Door series. That takes place in Georgetown, Maine and is about a motorcycle club that targets illegal dog fighting. They also run a salvage yard and do investigative work.

I also started my Silver Fox series. Those will be short stories about mature couples finding romance again later in life. Small-town romances.

7.  Any advice for other authors?

Write for yourself and never give up your dreams.
